6-Unit Condominium/Carriage House Project
Residential Restoration and Compatible New Construction Award.
This award-winning 6-unit condominium project was designed to reinvigorate a distressed urban site. Designs from previous developers had not met approval from the Urban Design Commission. The Destree Design Architects Design plan was more sensitive to the concerns of maintaining a neighborhood identity, as well as economic viability. With this in mind, the project design successfully passed both Landmark and Urban Design Commission. The units incorporate a variety of sizes and price points to sustain community accessibility. In May 2006 the project was given a Madison Trust for Historic Preservation Award for Residential Restoration and Compatible New Construction.
